April Fool's Day 愚人节

April Fool's Day, we enjoy the jokes today no matter it's true or not. people are fooled just for fun, nothing else, but in the Chinese society, someone lies to others, it's not just for fun, they really think others are dumb.
One is how the government react to the scandals. For example, one governor in Shanxi province encroached the antique which is donated to China from a Chinese citizen. He said 'I took it home because I am taking care of it, it's not encroachment.' --- a typical lie. Other examples are, bad things were always done by a casual laborer; governors made a mistake, it's always a personal business, the leader is always innocent.
Another one is how the government handle public information. No matter it's a natural disaster or a public event, the government tend to hide the truth from people. For example, the HIV village in Henan province, the SARS in Guangdong province. Are people so dumb that once they know the truth they are gonna panic and results in chaos? On contrary, panic and chaos is because of lack of truth, people made a mad scramble for salt in China just several weeks ago, it's because they don't know the truth: salt in fact has no ability to prevent the irradiation at all.
Another one is how the government react to democracy. The government refuse democracy and General Value, they claim the people is not qualified or well educated yet, it's a waste of time and energy to vote, it's probably become chaos if they vote for politics. The answer to this had been provided by the Europe more than a hundred years ago. Democracy is the least bad system compared to other bad political systems. The reason is the power is restricted and supervised by the people, this reduces corruption and mistakes.
I am happy if friends fooled me on this day, but if the government fools me everyday, I am gonna say no to that.


愚人节到了，亲戚朋友之间的互相愚弄，为节日增添了无数欢乐的气息。我们在这天愚人，从内心来说，仅仅是为了娱乐，仅此而已。可是现实中有人不仅是娱乐，还真把大众当不会思考的傻子。
一个是政府丑闻被曝光后的愚人：例如陕西某官员私自贪污民众捐献给政府的文物被曝光后，竟说‘是保管在家中，不是贪污’，这就是典型的愚人。坏事，总是临时工干的；下属犯错，总是个人行为，领导永远都是不知情的。
一个是政府部门在信息公开上的愚人：无论是灾害还是公共事件，总是隐瞒不报，担心引发恐慌造成不稳定因素。比如河南的艾滋村，广东的SARS事件等等，难道民众就真的愚蠢到一听到真相就会恐慌无助社会大乱吗？前段时间的抢盐事件就是因为民众不知道盐不能防止辐射的真相，才发生这场闹剧。
另外一个是政府对民主问题上，老是把民众当傻子。政府总是拒绝民主，说民众素质太差，还没发展到全民民主的阶段，现在让民众实行决策既浪费时间又容易混乱，所以还不如让政府统一决策。这个问题早在100多年前欧洲就已经向世界给出了答案，民主宪政不论是对公民还是对国家都是比独裁专治更科学的体制，可以最大限度的减少腐败和错误，根本原因就在于来自民众对政府的监督。
如果在愚人节被朋友们愚弄，我会感到愉快，但是如果政府天天让我过愚人节，天天‘被愚弄’，那我就要说不。

Happy life in tyranny 集权下的幸福生活

The dictator in Syria opened fire to its people 叙利亚独裁者也向自己的民众开枪了

大多独裁者，都以为自己的人民服务为虚伪外衣，实施剥削镇压人民的无耻暴行。当人民觉醒了，发动和平示威游行的时候，下令镇压示威游行，独裁者手上沾满人民的鲜血，踏着人民的尸体，继续实施他的恐怖独裁。中国共产党是一个，最近还有利比亚和叙利亚，他们的残酷暴行让国内人民受尽欺凌，这时候只有国际社会的援助才能阻止独裁者对人类文明的公然践踏。中国人民没有那么幸运，但是利比亚人民得到了国际社会的帮助，现在叙利亚人民也身陷专治镇压，国际社会会做出如何反应？愿国际社会能联合起来打倒倒行逆施的独裁者。
Most dictators claimed they are working for their dear citizens, but in fact they exploited and deprived of the basic human right of their own people. When people figured out it's a lie, they will protest, but the ruthless dictator don't care the people's lives, he ordered the army open fire to the people. Chinese Communism Party is one of them, now two more: Libya and Syria. It's sad that their people have no way to fight against the iron hand of terror, only their neighbors could help them. Chinese people were not that lucky, but Libya people has the humane help from civilized world. Now I believe Syria will be blessed again, the world won't leave the pain to them.

they are developing in a socialism route 严格按照社会主义日程表发展

联合国人权理事会就朝鲜“严重而广泛”侵犯人权的行为发出警告，并敦促平壤允许国际机构将人道援助送到平民手中。有30个国家批准了这一决议，中国、古巴和俄罗斯三国反对，11个国家投了弃权票。决议还呼吁朝鲜让人权理事会的一名外交官进入朝鲜。朝鲜代表说，朝鲜将严格按照社会主义日程表进行发展。
the human rights council of united nations warned north korea of violating the human right of north korea people, and asked the governors in pyongyang to accept humanitarian aid to the citizens. there are 30 countries support this resolution, 11 countries abstained from voting, china, cuba and russia opposed. the resolution also claimed north korea government allow one diplomat of the human rights council enter the country, but representative of north korea said, no, they are developing in a socialism route.

civilization vs. barbarousness 文明 和 野蛮

in front of a million people protest, the army in egypt declared to the lord: the army in egypt never did, and never will use violence to its own citizens. we emphasize the army is to protect egypt people!

june 4th 1989, people protested in tiananmen square, for the justice and truth, but it was brutally crushed down by the army of Chinese Communism Party, the army opened fire to their own people. CCP exposed its ruthlessness and inhuman to the world, challenged the human civilization.

China can't move forward without Democracy 只有加上民主，中国才能前进一步

June 12th 1944, Mao Zedong answered foreign journalists' questions like this: China got drawbacks, which is lack of democracy. Chinese people need democracy, with it, we can fight against Japanese, we can handle the domestic and foreign relations, we can build a better country, we can continue to hold tight after wars. China can't move any forward without democracy. 
But extremely ironically, after 1949, Mao became the most ill-reputed dictator in Chinese history. He betrayed whatever he said before he gains power, what happened was he started a series of political movement, he crushed down anyone with different opinions in those movements, this terror established his steady position in China and Chinese Communism Party(CCP), but at least 40 million Chinese people were tortured to death only because of Mao's movement.
1944年6月12日毛泽东答中外记者团：中国是有缺点，这种缺点就是缺乏民主。中国人民非常需要民主，只有民主，抗战才有力量，中国内部关系与对外关系才能走上轨道，才能建设一个好的国家，亦只有民主才能使中国在战后继续团结。中国缺乏民主，是在座诸位所深知的。只有加上民主，中国才能前进一步。
但是极具讽刺意味的是，1949年后，他成了中国历史上臭名昭著的暴君独裁者。他彻底的背弃了他取得政权以前的承诺和说辞，发动一个又一个政治运动，每一次运动有成千上万的无辜平民因为他的政治斗争而非正常死亡，千千万万信任他的中国人民被拧成了他专治权力机器上的一颗颗螺丝钉。

who is lying? 谁在撒谎？

CCTV(China Central Television, people on the internet also call it 'CCAV' to make fun of it) said Gaddafi is against luxury, he's leading a simple life, no smoking, no alcohol, no luxurious drinking, he likes mineral water and camel milk only. But, on 25th, Obama signed an order: freeze Gaddafi's, his family's and Libya governor's property 40 billion dollars. Britain government also announced they decided to freeze Gaddafi's personal property 20 billion dollars.

so, who is lying? 

据CCAV报道：卡扎菲反对奢侈豪华，过着简朴的生活。他本人生活十分简单，一不抽烟，二不喝酒，也不饮其他高级饮料，仅喜欢喝矿泉水和驼奶。---但奥巴马25日签署行政命令，冻结卡扎菲及其家人、利政府高级官员400亿美元的资产。英国政府宣布冻结卡扎菲及其家人的资产200亿美元。--谁在说谎呢？

Why salary is low but prices are high in China？ 为什么中国工资低物价高？

It is common, in China, wife and husband both work but still have a hard life, they even need help from their parents; in America salary of a worker is enough to raise the whole family.

Why such ridiculous difference exists? The answer is public finance in China. First, the high prices in China, one reason is the export tax drawback. For each $1 of item China export to America, the government will print and throw ¥7 into China's market. Now China has almost 2300 billion dollars foreign exchanges, this leads to huge money flow, more than 16000 billion Yuan in domestic market. China exported items, which means less merchandise available in China; American paid China dollars, which means more money in China. Both of this two results in inflation: The price is sitting on a rocket!

Why prices in America is low? The same reason. China exported resources to America, and they pay money to China, so merchandise is abundant while money is less in America, this means price for items is low. 

把中国的低工资和高物价结合在一起，把美国的高工资和低物价结合在一起，这就使中美两国实际收入之间的差距，远远高于货币收入之间的差距。在实际生活中，美国工人仍然能够独自一人养活一家四五口人，而中国的工人夫妻，两人一起没日没夜地干，养活一个孩子都困难，还时常需要爷爷奶奶来接济。

为什么中美两国工人货币工资之间的差距在缩小，而中国工人供养家庭的能力在下降?甚至下降到了夫妻二人做工养活一个孩子都困难的状况。那么是什么原因造成了这样的现实呢，答案十分简单：中国财政。

首先，就美国低物价来说。中国财政补贴一是通过出口退税的方式按商品发放;二是通过亏损补贴的方式对企业发放。其次，就中国高物价来说，则是中国实行高额税收和通货膨胀的结果。中国税收占消费品价格的比重竟然高达64%，而商品本身的比重只有36%，中国老百姓每购买100元的商品中就包含有64元的税收，超过商品本身近1.8倍。如此高额税收加到商品价格里面，自然会造成物价高高在上。此外，中国老百姓同时还要承担因出口商品造成的巨大通货膨胀的损失。中国每出口1美元商品，国内就要按照汇率比大约1比7来增发7元人民币来平衡。目前中国外汇储备大约2.3万亿美元，国内由此增发的人民币超过16万亿元，相当于2008年3.4万亿市场货币流通量(M0)的近5倍。这些由出口结汇投放的巨额货币，全部以通货膨胀的方式转嫁到了老百姓头上，造成老百姓手中货币的大幅度贬值，物价自然会相应大幅度上涨。

one student dropped the class

today one of my favorite students dropped the class, i checked out for him, feel kind of sad.
he said his dad is a professor here and he planed to follow his dad but it turns out he don't like this major, also this small town. so he decided to leave, giving up all the years of study here, he's gonna start over again in another college with a different major. (I am actually thinking of doing the same thing, switching to history major, but didn't spend enough time on this, I'm not sure whether it's right for me or not, yet.)
I believe it's a tough decision, so I don't want to have much comment on this, I just figured out people here have sufficient freedom to do whatever they want or like, and everyone would agree with that decision if it's right to him/her. That's really good for people to explore their maximal ability.
This is also good for a nation, the economy is developing in a health way if people enjoy their jobs. Not like the case in China, some people didn't like the current job, but other people would put pressure on them if they changed to a new one, so they have to stay and suffer. The direct consequence is people suffer in the current position, leading to a low or bad efficiency, which results in a less contribution to the society. It is also bad for the person as mental health is a more and more emphasized issue, people should feel happy with what they are doing, not suffering.
But my opinion is not switching the major or job without a second thought, because, first, people should try to overcome the difficulty, not giving up easily. if the new position is still full of difficulty, should we just give up and switch again? Second, quitting the current position and go to a new one means say goodbye to something you are familiar with and join a new environment, of course it's good to find challenge, but consider the effort people have made in the past, money, energy and time, all are wasted. This is a huge expense in terms of time.
Everything has two sides, one is good, one is bad, but we still have to make a decision, that's the tough part of life, I guess.
Anyway, good luck to his new life, hope he really enjoys it.

Gaddafi is bombarded 卡扎菲被炸

His resident building was bombarded by western army force yesterday.
No matter what it mean, it is a warning to Chinese Communism Party, they are no longer allowed to shoot their daughters and sons in future revolutions otherwise western world will stop them. This encourages Chinese people to protest for their own human rights.
To this extent I agree with western army, but not invading Libya or robbing the country.

昨天卡扎菲的住宅被西方军队给炸了。
不管这意味着什么，背后有多少故事，这至少给中共敲响了一个警钟：如果中共再用暴力残酷镇压自己的人民，西方世界将不会坐视不管。这或多或少给了想改变中国体制的人民们一些鼓励。
从人道主义和公平公正这个角度讲，我同意西方世界的决定；但是如果他们想趁火打劫，我坚决反对。

Political Reforms 政治体制改革

Most Political Reformation Starters ended up a tragedy. Wang Anshi, Zhang Juzheng, Kang Youwei. They were ruined by the system they were working for. The owner of the system actually published policies to promote the reforms, but the difficulty is, on the one hand, the parasites in this system refused the reforms, they tried not to carry out the reforms due to it would minimize their profit; on the other hand, the owner didn't not want to reform in fact, every reformation policy turned out to be a policy strengthening the autocratic system, because the owner wanted this way.
All this determined political reforms end up a tragedy.


历史上的改革者多以悲剧作收,从王安石、张居正到康有为,而且都毁在他们效忠和服务的旧体系手上。旧体系的主人推动改革以延续体系的生命,而寄生于体系内的蠹虫却不允许任何对寄生环境的破坏，然而改革失败的主要原因还是因为主子并没有想要把手中的权力让出去，每一个改革政策到最后都变成加强专治的砝码。主人与蠹虫既依赖又矛盾的关系,决定了改革者的命运。
